In-Class Tests are a form of assessment that normally occur within a student’s timetabled session – be that a lecture, seminar, or tutorial slot. The test, which could be summative or formative, is organised and run by the Module Co-ordinator and is not formally supported by central administration, thus falling outside the University’s formal exam periods.
In-Class Tests can take different approaches such as multiple-choice tests, problem-based tests, short-answer tests, or essay tests. These will often be time-limited and may be undertaken in written form, orally, or be computer based.
